They can add the one I pulled to their scrap pile. As I said, they would rather lose the sale, eat the part, and have an unhappy paying customer than to work with that customer in a situation like this. There needs to be a different price structure for parts such as this. As you can see, it comes out as one unit. Maybe somewhere in the middle of $20 and the $65 I was quoted. I'd be willing to compromise a little on the price. They would rather eat the part that they most likely don't have a buyer for than make a paying customer happy. These units don't easily dissect and separate. After finding and pulling the item I was told $65 because I also has the heater controls. Their pricing is $20 for factory radio/cd player. These stereos are basically one unit with the heater controls. Example: I need a factory stereo for an '05 Accord. They nit pick every little part that comes out of there. As soon as Pick-n-Pull took over many prices nearly doubled and customer service went down hill quickly. The yard in Tacoma used to be great when it was Pull-A-Part.
I have literally spent hundreds of dollars on a long list of different vehicles but sadly it now comes down to a question of principle. I have been going to the Edmonton location for 38 years and have been a member for quite some time now. Needless to say, I am NEVER going back (BTW, I am writing this cool headed). I understand that pick and pull is in the business of making money, but it sure would be nice if they didn't try to screw the customer at every corner after stating on the website that "customer satisfaction is their #1 priority". I got the " deer in the headlight" look so I all went to the garbage. I also stated that I did not see that in their policies.
So I POLITELY asked that either they honor the complete block price or I am throwing it in the dumpster. I told them this was absurd and did not make any sense. So I told them that I would cart it back in and spend a few minutes to put it back together but then was told that " now that we know you can take it apart. I mean, I don't expect your front staff to know everything about engine but when I am asked about the head and told its a transmission I realized he was either an idiot of simply under qualified to work there. I asked the front desk worker."how else do you pull an engine out". Vehicle Inventory We update the inventory in our yard daily. Then, I was told at the counter that when the engine is taken apart (ie: Head, block, oil pan, pick up tube, air plenum etc.) they charge per pieces. forked out money for the entry fees, for the dolly to lift it out and carted that damn thing to the front desk. After I spent 3 days removing a engine out of a Jeep.
Today was my turn and I got screwed by pick and pulI.
